Tiongco, UPAA Acting President together with UP-CMu Dean, Dr. Jose Buenconsejo officiated the induction of the officers headed by Greg Abelardo de Leon as President, Ma. Cristina R. Joaquin as Secretary, Conrado 'Dondi' Ong III (on sick leave) as Vice-President, Lesley Mantegro Ong-Hay as Treasurer, Emlyn Olfindo-Santos as P.R.O. and Jeannelle Bihag-Roldan as Auditor. The ceremony was witnessed by UP Office of Alumni Relations Asst. Secretary and UP-CMuAA Past-President Rufina “Nini” Santos-Jorge, Faculty Advisor and UP-CMuAA Past-President Mita Fernandez , UP-CMu Student Council Pres. Charley Magalit and UP-CMu faculty members and staff.

This long-awaited yet simple induction ceremony was formally called to order by the Master of Ceremony P.R.O. Emlyn Olfindo-Santos. The invocation was lead by the incoming officers in the form of the song "Song of Joseph" (a song from the musical composed by Raymond and Jeannelle Roldan). In this invocation, the officers sang the verses from Psalm 23 as they prayed for courage and strength for the achievement of their goals for the duration of their term. After this, UP-CMu Dean, Dr. Buenconsejo then took the podium to deliver his opening speech wherein he called for cooperation in "...building a social environment that does not produce heartless mechanical musicians, but authentic musicians and scholars who will care for the worlds around them.". This was followed by guest speaker UP-CMuAA Past-President 'Nini' Jorge who highlighted successful projects of the UP-CMuAA during her 6-year presidency which include hosting regular alumni homecoming assemblies and the donation of furniture to the UP College of Music including a sofa set, refrigerator and conference table and a 3/4 grand piano, aside from the usual fundraising activities. She ends her speech by emphasizing that musicians have "...the distinct privilege to inspire men and women to become better persons as music has the gift to heal wounded hearts and souls.". The Induction soon followed and the officers were sworn in as a group by Atty.Tiongco and Dean Jojo. Newly-inducted Pres. Greg de Leon then proceeded to give his acceptance speech where he dubbed his assumption into office as a 'resurrection' of the UP-CMuAA after a decade quiescence. He also gave a glimpse of projects for 2011 that include a One-Day Free Medical Drive for UP-CMuAA faculty, staff and alumni in January, a tribute to distinguished alumnus Rodolfo Cornejo in March, a Grand Fundraising Concert featuring well-known alumni in June and a Grand Alumni Homecoming in September. Intermission followed where attendees were treated to a rousing duet by newly-inducted Auditor Jeannelle Bihag-Roldan and husband Raymond who sang the Brindisi from the italian opera La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi. Seemingly moved by the event, Prof. Rodrigo G. Cornejo, former NCCA commissioner, GMA Network consultant and son of world-reknowned filipino composer/conductor Rodolfo Cornejo, took the floor and shared his thoughts in a spontaneous yet heartfelt speech about the the many unsung heroes of art who give their whole lives to music only to be forgotten through the years. He then shook hands with Pres. de Leon in a gesture of support and cooperation in the actualization of UP-CMuAA projects especially the grand tribute to his father, Rodolfo Cornejo slated in March 2011. Soon after, UPAA acting Pres. Atty. Tionco gave her closing remarks where she reiterated the UPAA's pledge to support the UP-CMuAA by "...providing the assistance and the expertise, experience and access to the UP Alumni network for projects and programs...". She ended her speech by quoting Scottish writer Thomas Cryle who said music is "the speech of angels" and reminded the newly-inducted officers to be "...mindful of the sacred privilege of speaking for the angels..." so that " ... the nation be granted the privilege of hearing the speech of angels forevermore.". The ceremony ended in a joyous mood as the guests, officers and attendees shared a delicious meal of native food to celebrate the success of the affair.
